Abstract Objective To analyze the trend in incidence and mortality of gastric cancer in Sichuan Province from 2015 to 2019, and to provide scientific basis for prevention and control of gastric cancer. Methods The incidence and mortality data of gastric cancer in Sichuan Province from 2015 to 2019 were derived from the China Cancer Registration Platform. The accumulate incidence and mortality, crude incidence and mortality, the Chinese- and world-standardized incidence and mortality ,and average annual percentage change (AAPC) of gastric cancer were calculated to analyze the trends of gastric cancer in Sichuan Province. The rate were compared by using t test and the difference was statistically significant with P<0.05.Results The crude, the Chinese- and world-standardized incidence and mortality of gastric cancer in Sichuan Province from 2015 to 2019 all appeared a tendency towards a decline(all P<0.05).The crude, the Chinese- and world-standardized incidence and mortality of gastric cancer all appeared a tendency towards a decline in rural areas(all P<0.05),but the crude, the Chinese- and world-standardized incidence and the crude mortality of gastric cancer did not appear a clear decline in urban (all P>0.05).The crude, the Chinese- and world-standardized incidence and mortality of gastric cancer from 2015 to 2019 were significantly higher among rural residents than urban residents. The crude, the Chinese- and world-standardized incidence and mortality of gastric cancer from 2015 to 2019 all appeared a tendency towards a decline in males and females(all P<0.05),and all these rate were significantly higher among males than females.?Conclusion The incidence and mortality of gastric cancer?were lower than those in the same period in China and both appeared a tendency towards a decline in Sichuan Province from 2015 to 2019.However,the incidence and mortality remained high.?In the future, comprehensive prevention and control strategies should be adopted, focusing on male and rural residents. |
